CPS Alumnus Speaks to Illinois House of Representatives


On February 20, 2009 CPS alumnus Jeremy Bidwell (Ph.D. 2008.) was asked by the Illinois Psychological Association to testify at the Illinois House of Representatives, Health Care Licenses Committee hearing in support of a bill proposing prescriptive authority for licensed psychologists with additional training in psychopharmacology. Dr. Bidwell is the Associate Director of the Illinois Center for Rural Psychology which has recently adopted the push for prescription privileges for Medical Psychologists as a central mission focus of the organization and will be showing support in Illinois and Wisconsin as a means to providing greater mental health care services in rural communities. Dr. Bidwell was awarded a masters degree in clinical psychopharmacology in 2007.
